Preparation depends on the type of examination you will have. For
some scans you may be instructed not to eat or drink, for others
you may be asked to drink water and arrive with a full bladder at
the time of examination.
All exams below require:
Finish drinking 24 ounces of water 1 hour before your appointment
time. Please arrive with a very full bladder.
- Obstetrical (4-33 weeks) LMP
- OB follow-up
- Pelvic
- Pelvic with endovaginal
All exams below:
No Preparation Required.
- Venous Extremity (right) (left) or (bilat)
- Carotid Arteries
- Obstetrical (34+ weeks)
- Breast (right) (left) or (bilat)
- Thyroid/ Testicular/Appendix
All exams below require:
Do not eat or drink anything 6 hours prior to your exam including
smoking or chewing gum. You may take your medication as prescribed.
- Complete Abdominal
(e.g. liver, gallbladder, kidneys, aorta, pancreas, spleen)
- Aorta
- Renal
